Inspiration
Entertaining and hospitality are core to the culture of Outport Newfoundland. Visiting and gathering were part of daily life with no pretense or pomp and circumstance.
The Dining Chair, Armless Chair and Char-and-a-half are honest and humble hosts. Developed for a strong and silent supporting role to let the fine dining and views of the Fogo Island Inn take centre stage. The series are robust, having just stood the test of time after ten years of enjoyment at the Fogo Island Inn.
Designers Joe Nunn and Markus Bergstrom created elegantly simple lines with broad wrap-around arms or an armless version with still enough space to rest an elbow to talk freely with your hands. The Chair-and-a-half gives ample space to stretch out for dining and discourse at a leisurely pace. Mix the series instead of matching for a livelier dinner party with contrasting personalities.
