Katrina Tompkins is a furniture designer, maker, educator and advocate for craft.
Katrina studied at the School of Craft and Design, Sheridan College (2006–2009, A.Dip.) and OCAD University (2015–2019, M.Des).
She has spent time apprenticing in the studios of renown makers Michael Fortune (Ontario) and Mike Paterson (Newfoundland), ever-learning at craft institutions Anderson Ranch (Colorado) and Haystack Mountain School of Craft (Maine).
Katrina established her studio practice Finefolk in 2019, designing and producing wood goods for both residential and commercial projects. Katrina is as intrigued with Outport furniture as she is committed to contemporary regionalism.
