On Fogo Island – a place where the weather is tangibly alive – you can experience rain, snow, fog, and sun in a single afternoon. The diverse atmospheric conditions paint our island’s landscape with a mesmerizing palette and inspired Newfoundland architect and designer, Nick Herder, to design Island Atmosphere.

Nick’s design expresses the dynamic interplay of light, showcasing the island’s atmospheric nuances. From the morning’s soft glow to the vibrant sunsets, Island Atmosphere allows you to experience the moods of Fogo Island’s weather in a captivating tapestry.

Fabrication

Island Atmosphere is digitally printed by our partner, Christopher Farr Cloth to capture the intricate pattern and layered colours. Using the most environmentally friendly water-based ink system available, Christopher Farr Cloth marries low-waste modern production methods with the highest quality materials. These non-woven wallpapers are certified FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and are sourced responsibly from suppliers that are environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable.
